She’s two years old and is fighting a viscous battle…stage 4 neuroblastoma…cancer. I ran across her story and began to follow it as her family posted updates and blogposts about her fight, right now they have her at the hospital – waiting for her battle to end, as her small body is losing to the cancer.

But her family doesn’t want us to remember her as the beautiful angel that is in pain, they want us to remember her as a lively, funny, sweet and amazing little girl. A child with an amazing story that will change the world.

They’ve asked for prayers – prayers that she will be at peace, that she won’t hurt anymore, that their family will heal, just as she will. I intend to pray these things and more for them, it’s the least that anyone could do for them. We can ask ourselves, “How? Why?” and wonder how this family will recover, how they will function – anyone that loses a child will understand but for those that haven’t – its a bottomless feeling.

UPDATE: 3/09/10

Layla passed away this morning, she was 2 years old.

Beth: “Fricken’ Canadians….they look sooooo adorable.”
Me: “Okay, firstly what are you talking about? Secondly, I agree – especially when they say “eh” and “aboot.”
Beth: “Dude, don’t distract me…they’re as misleading as bunnyaculas.”
Me: “Bunny-what-ulas?”
Beth: “Bunnyaculas, you know “Bunny Dracula.” That’s not the point though! Canadians are like bunny vampires! They attack swiftly in the night!”

I have the weirdest friends.

P.S. Our conversation went further but this was the only really funny part, things like “stabby midgets,” “the rain smells like poo” and “don’t make me shoot you julie-marie” were indeed uttered, don’t fret.

Eh, a good project of mine is “Project 365″ one where you aim to take a picture a day and practice on your art…well I’m forgetful so I really need to get back on track with this but for now here I only have a couple…you can look at them here.

I’m gonna head to bed and work on getting rid of my headache…more tomorrow!

Also I am realizing just how nerdy I actually am – for instance when I get bored I read fanfiction and I usually tend to get really really really creeped out by it.

Like legitimately creeped out from it.
